Megacon Orlando 2022 Artists
Below are a small batch of artists I spoke with and purchased art from at Megacon Orlando 2022! Although this artwork may not be your own style, I hope it inspires you to check out small businesses!
Keep in mind that each artist is growing their store at their own pace. If you see items pictured below that are no longer up for sale, you can reach out to them and ask if they plan on producing more copies of a piece.
Artists I Bought From
MonoChrome Star
The work shown to the left is called “In Time”. I also bought her piece “Decay”. they’re on white paper, which she said all have a shimmer effect. I found this complimentary to the characters with white/ silver hair.
I bought 3 pieces from Monochrome Star. The artist had a small booth at Megacon but I was instantly drawn to her unique style and how each scene made me feel.
I also bought her piece “A Vague Dream”. It’s on a darker paper, so it doesn’t come with the shimmer effect but Nathan and I found it to be a captivating image.
She sells books as well. I suggest checking out her shop and browsing all options.
These would look great in frames of various shades such as white, silver, grey, or black. Once I have them up I’ll do an update here.
Inkwell Illustrations
Dustin Penzino is an artist based in Sarasota, FL. who sells their art on Etsy.
As you can see to the right, I purchased “a Tribute to Studio Ghibli”. I had the option to purchase 1-10 cards and bought the set because it looked great as a whole.
I plan on getting 2 frames to display 5 cards. Something to keep in mind when planning how to display is that it might be difficult to find the desired size. Michaels is a store that offers custom frames for an additional cost.
Akanyte.Art
This artist sells prints and apparel. Not only did their designs stand out, but the apparel's quality and print/ color surprised me.
Let’s be honest, not all vendors have access to quality apparel supplies, or it’s just expensive for them to get.
This sweater is a thick material and the inside is very soft. After a couple of washes, the inside hasn’t had any clumping of fuzzies and the print looks perfect!

Ana Jano
Ana Jano easily became a new favorite artist of mine. The online shop contains books, cards, prints, apparel, pins, and even downloadable content. She offers various sizes for most prints as well.
I bought her “passage” print. Not only did I love the design but this is something that can fit the vibe in any room.
I also bought her “fox spirit” pin because we plan on creating a framed pin board to hang up.

ChisoriChan
Christine Petika is the artist of ChisoriChan art.
Currently, her online shop is closed but perhaps when you’re reading this it will be back in business!
It’s common for small businesses to close up shop periodically, especially if they’re traveling to different conventions. I typically will follow an artist I like and pay attention if they’ll be at an event near me so I can purchase the desired item and meet them!

Bird Brains NYC
People collect pins for several reasons. for us, we decided to start a framed pin collection board.
These pins are unique because they combine two different movies, shows, and other media into a pin design.
We got several pins, shown to the right that combine many of our favorite characters.
The other unique part of his collection is that for most pins, he also makes a variant version. Since we saw the artist at a convention, we were able to choose to have it if we wanted. Keep in mind, that if you purchase a pin online you won’t be able to select the variant. It will be a surprise whether you get it or not!
